How To Checking for Fake Sandisk SD Cards

Hello, guys thanks coming to the website. I'm guessing you're here because you have purchased for you think you have purchased some fake SanDisk SD cards.  You probably have already tried the cards in your device and found them not to perform as you had anticipated.
In this blog post, I will show you some of the tests I performed on the cards I purchased and show you what I found.

The best place to start maybe before you even purchase if you have the packaging in front of you have a closer look and see if looks badly printed or throw up any suspicions.
Look very carefully at the print and the inks that are used in the packaging if they look of a poor quality and are faded or partially rubbed out this could be an indication of the item may be fake.
From research, I have done myself after receiving fake cards some of the copies are extremely and at first glance, I phoned almost impossible to tell the difference, obviously this would depend on who as manufactured the copy some are better than others.
If we look at the particular picture above, in particular, looking at the rear of the packaging there will be a guarantee symbol on the back.

Ideally, you should see a logo like this on some of the items I have seen they vary depending on how many years guarantee they offer. From the research I have found that there should be a number referring to the number of years is the guarantee. 

If for example you see only a symbol in the circle and not a number this may indicate a fake as shown in the picture above.

Testing Cards

If you already have your SD card out of the packet or the packet is missing you could try an app that can read the cards manufacturers data like the one listed above. 

This app or read the data and tell you whether the card is genuine or not if the card is non-genuine the manufacturer will read nothing. 

If on the other hand, the card is genuine it will specify SanDisk. 

I believe this app works with most micro SD cards.

     You have probably come to this page because you want to modify your Saramonic SmartRig to fit into your DSLR camera or any input with a standard TRS 3.5mm Jack.
As you probably know already a jack that is supplied with your smartRig is a TRRS 3.5mm type Jack connector and this is used on your smartphone or tablet. The purpose of the trrs connector is that it contains information for headphones as well as microphone which is why is used for your mobile phone when making hands free calls.

TRRS

I have come to realise after purchasing things that I wanted to use the SmartRig in a standard TRS female socket like the one on a H2 or on your DSLR camera so this meant I would either have to disassemble the unit cut all the wires to the existing TRRS connector and rejoin them, this can be seen in many videos on YouTube. I decided I did not want to disassemble the unit as I would still like to be able to use the raid on my mobile phone if for any reason I sound recorder or other input device was unavailable, this would insure them that I had a backup recording a device on me at all times as I always carry my mobile phone.

Splitter or Adaptor Cables

Right then so basically all we need is an adapter cable. Cable required is either a Y splitter cable which will go from a female trrs to two male Jack TRS connectors these would be for headphones and microphone. The other cable would be a trrs female to a trrs male connector this would be for microphone Only.

The problem with the rode adaptor is that you cannot monitor Audio as the headphone audio output on the saramonic is a loop through SRRT connector it goes into the recording device Ie mobile phone and back through the connector back to the headphone socket on the rig. 

so using this connector would make you unable to use headphones.

This of course would work fine if you know your levels already and don't need to monitor but I had friends and he wanted to plug directly into your cameras Jack audio input.

After I have done a fair bit of research I decided to go the Y splitter route. This is a splitter y cable that goes from TRRS to 2 TRRS jacks as listed below. Job Done!

Many dont use desktop pc s anymore as they are just not convenient and easy to transport.

Having that conveyance to just move the computer out of your way if you want to do some other type of work at your desk like writing or drawing or anything that requires more space.

The modern laptop is far more sophisticated than the laptops of old.

although old isn't the word anymore as technology has moves on in a fin-nominal rate.

The laptops of yesteryear where more like desktop pc's than laptops.

Connectivity

The problem with the laptops still to day is the connectivity to all your devices you may want to connect.

The idea now it to get the most out of your laptop as if it was a desktop pc.

You may have many devices like printer, cameras, webcams and other input devices that need a usb connection or similar.

you may find that you even power your mobile phone or other devices from a usb socket on your pc.

Another way to be portable and stay connected. 

The very best way to to use a laptop instead of a pc is to use hubs.

If you want to connect and go and dont want the faff of having to unplug everything before you take your laptop out to work use a hub.

A USB hub is a device that expands a single Universal Serial Bus (USB) port into several so that there are more ports available to connect devices to a host system, similar to a power strip.

USB hubs are often built into equipment such as computers, keyboards, monitors, or printers. When such a device has many USB ports, they all usually stem from one or two internal USB hubs rather than each port having independent USB circuitry.

Physically separate USB hubs come in a wide variety of form factors: from external boxes (looking similar to an Ethernet or network hub) connectable with a long cable, to small designs that can be directly plugged into a USB port (see the "compact design" picture). In the middle case, there are "short cable" hubs which typically use an integral 6-inch cable to slightly distance a small hub away from physical port congestion and of course increase the number of available ports.

The advantage with this is you can have all your devices (once the drivers have been installed first) plugged in at once just like your pc, without having to remove one before connecting another due to the lack of ports available..

There are many products on the market and this blog may also cover one or two of them. Its best to do your research first to see what works with what, as some manufacturers say they work and they clearly dont.

Read up on some forums and look at reviews of products to see what people have said about them, as these are the true measure as to whether the products you are looking at will work with your laptop model.

There are many people (Including us) who do reviews on YouTube that will show you the products at close hand and show you how they perform, and sometimes with your chosen laptop. 

Updated Reviews

Most if not all our products we review are not new and have been around for a short time. 

The products have been superseded by newer ones and software may have been updated also.

This said, it doesn't mean you have to go out and buy a new ones as the items are more than likely backward compatible. The manufacturers want to keep up to date with the latest machines but dont want to loose customers who are not spending money on all the latest gear either.

Older product lines that are still available even used items may still have drivers that can be downloaded to use on them. Companies have realized that if they look after the customer the customer will be brand loyal and look after them.

Take HP and Dell just as examples. these companies keep a huge database for all there older products and have most if not all the drivers for them if needed that can be downloaded from the internet to use.

Please try these stepps first in the previous posts as this is how far i have come and the wifi did work for a short tim ewith these done.
Right onward to the next bit.........................

After following all the steps in the first posts.HERE and then HERE if you still are having problems as did I Try these steps.

After trying with sveral reboots and full shutdown and new driers the WiFi has still descided to stop working on my latest switch on. I decided that this is probably a hardware driver fault with windows 10 as I have read several things about it on other forums. As there appears to be no decent drivers that work with windows 10  the only option is to use another Adaptor.

I then purchased one of these and plugged it into the spare usb port and the driver was found strait away and i gained internet access. SUCCESS!

AN UPDATE

hi guys thanks for coming back to my blog. I ahv ebee running window for a few days now and had no problems but then the laptopd decided to start playing up and it went back to how it was before when the wifi would not load.
 I then proceed to try a full shut down as windows 10 on seems to boot on a fast boot. This would load all the driver again I believe.

I created a shortcut on my desktop with the link as follows

"C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe /s /f /t 0"
Type this above, between the quoted into the shortcut desciption.

This seems to be working for now. I did do the no wifi once since but I rebooted and it seems ok since.

Will keep you informed as to my progress..........................

After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 on Novatech A15HE Laptop, the Wifi won't turn on. The switch is grayed out under the Windows network settings panel.
There is no physical switch for the Wifi, only a "soft" (touch sensitive) switch above the keyboard so I think this might have something to do with drivers for those soft keys.
I was forced to switch back to Windows 7. Any help would be appreciated. Even an application which can turn the Wifi on/off would be a step in the right direction."

After having found my old laptop and decided to upgrade it from the pre-install windows 7 to windows 10. i cam accross a few issues. This is what I found.

• windows 10 upgrade no longer available

• WIFI not switching on on laptop.

Firstly I found that windows 10 is still available if you use windows 7 or 8 and take advantage of the Assistive Technologies offer from Microsoft, 

Most of the bumf I needed was found here.

After doing my download and getting windows 10 up and running with my “assistive technologies” 

i found the wifi function to be blacked out and was unable to switch it on with the upper photo bar hotkeys buttons None of thse buttons fuctioned not even the volumn buttons.

I was able to eventually find and download the latest drivers for this and the Wifi adaptor from the web. As I had read on Novatechs forum that there was no updates fro windows 10 for my laptop which i thought was not very good as the laptop was only a couple of years old.

Now I have a fully working laptop again.
